PreSonus’s DAW Studio One is all grown up! mutech.media’s Paul French dropped in on PreSonus’s Haseeb Patail at NAMM 2025 to get the low-down on the new features in version 7 of the already feature-packed Studio One Pro.
The big news is Splice integration – browse for samples in Splice, ‘Search with Sound’ and drag and drop directly into your project, all without leaving the DAW.
A big user requested feature – AI-powered stem separation. Unmix stems into individual instrument tracks, edit, and get creative.
New instrument – Cinematic Lights: heavily processed orchestral strings and brass combine synth, modular, and field recording elements for creative and unique textures.
On top of the Dolby Atmos renderer already added on version 6.5, this makes Studio One an incredible DAW for the money, and even better if you got it for free with PreSonus hardware!
