mutech.media’s Jason Allen plays through the possibilities of Soundtoy’s SpaceBlender, including guitar processing, synth pads, orchestral sound design, and drums.

Soundtoy’s new plugin is something different for the company; instead of a digital emulation of existing analog hardware (with digital tweaks), this one has come totally out of their imagination. It’s a tool for creating detailed evolving soundscapes, inspired by ambient musician’s use of tape loops and long delays. But it’s much more than that; it’s capable of short non-linear effects, wild pitch shifting, amplitude control, and more. The time field ranges form 10ms up to a full minute, with simple but deep control and automation possibilities.

SpaceBlender is FREE at soundtoys.com until 22 May 2025, after which it reverts to the full $99 USD pricing. Get on it!
